The express bus to Hyeonpoong, Daegu, departs at 6:10 p.m. I hope there's no delay, but the weather service is still forecasting snow at around 6 this evening. I'm not too worried; as the snow arrives, I'll be heading south where it's a few degrees warmer. Tomorrow morning, temps will be freezing, but I've got my layers, and the feet will be taped and gauzed up. This first 25K segment will be an interesting test of whether the foot really has healed up, but I won't be surprised if the skin reopens after even a day of gentle walking on mostly level bike trail. If all goes well, my bellyaching about my feet should be minimal. The first segment takes me roughly from southwest Daegu to northwest Daegu, then I head toward Chilgok and Gumi. Quieter stretches. After that, I'll hit Sangju for the final phase of the walk: the sharp turn east to follow the Nakdong River to Andong. That'll be only three days' walking, but with one rest day tucked in there. Righto—more when I get to Hyeonpoong.
Here we go again! Looking forward to tagging along vicariously. Good luck with the weather.
