weather considerations

Much of South Korea is under a heavy-snow warning right now, but Daegu, with its reputation for higher temperatures, is looking safe for the moment. Here's what the weather in both Daegu and Andong will be like for the next few days:

Daegu (starting city)
11/29 (F): morning 0ºC, afternoon 8ºC, rain around 2 a.m., then clear
11/30 (Sa): 1ºC/9ºC, partly cloudy
12/1 (Su): 1ºC/11ºC, sunny
12/2 (M): 1ºC/12ºC, sunny
12/3 (T): 0ºC/7ºC, partly cloudy
12/4 (W): -1ºC/8ºC, sunny
12/5 (R): 0ºC/8ºC, sunny
12/6 (F): 0ºC/9ºC, sunny

Andong (destination city)
11/29 (F): -4ºC/4ºC; sunny, then cloudy
11/30 (Sa): -3ºC/7ºC; sunny, then partly cloudy
12/1 (Su): -3ºC/8ºC, sunny
12/2 (M): -2ºC/10ºC, sunny
12/3 (T): -2ºC/5ºC; sunny, then partly cloudy
12/4 (W): -3ºC/5ºC, sunny
12/5 (R): -3ºC/6ºC, sunny
12/6 (F): -3ºC/6ºC, sunny

Korea is mountainous, so the weather here is capricious and prone to chaos. All of the above can change in an instant. I'll be checking the weather daily.

No snow is forecast at either end of the trip (i.e., Daegu and Andong), but I noticed that Andong is getting snow today (11/27), so who knows what that might mean by the time I get there? Will there be snow residue? Falling snow? No idea. My walk is scheduled to end on 12/10, but I'll officially be in Andong around 12/9, then walking through the city's western outskirts and through its downtown until I reach Andong Lake and Andong Dam on 12/10. This is going to be a bit of a harsh walk in the mornings when it's still freezing or below freezing.

Foot report: again, no oozing. I think things will be totally closed up by the time I start walking again. I'll have a fully stocked first-aid kit with me just in case the foot problems return.

If the weather gets too bad, I'll stop and wait until spring to do the rest of the trail. March is always a nice month for walking. So is most of April. Late April through May is also possible, but a little too warm for my taste.
