the foot seems fine now

Another day with no bandage and no leakage! A visual inspection and a fingertip palpation both reveal no openings in my right sole. I think the foot is, tentatively, good to go. It might reopen on Day One of the upcoming walk, but it is what it is. I'll finish the walk, pain or not, then recuperate at home. When I get to the Hong-C Motel this Friday evening, I'll pre-tape my feet with Leukotape and add some kind of padding, probably gauze, to minimize pressure. Meanwhile, I'll be eating only a minimum to see how weight loss along the way affects the walk. Per some advice I got on Instapundit, I'll also bring along some extra pairs of socks so I can rotate them throughout the day. Dryness is, as the guy said, key to avoiding blisters.
